Dreamforce 2017: A Quick Recap
With the National Park theme, 170,000 Trailblazers strolled around the streets of San Francisco during Dreamforce 2017. Salesforce continued to live up to its accolade as the biggest software conference in the world. Many predicted Salesforce will launch another new cloud application in last year’s event, but instead of that, the CRM giant rolled out fully customized versions of most of its software platforms and tools by taking personalization to a whole new level. But the highlight of Dreamforce 2017 was Salesforce’s introduction of their new product line of mySalesforce app portfolio to empower thousands of businesses around the world go fully bespoke.
mySalesforce was certainly the showstopper of last years Dreamforce event. This allows you to build your own mobile applications which can be published on the Google Play & App Stores. This feature has its own set of tools and designing systems in order to build an app fast. This has the most influential impact on the Community cloud. mySalesforce later enabled many businesses to build their own app and offer their users a complete unified experience.
Einstein is already among the top disruptive innovations of Salesforce, which will change the face of business in coming years. In Dreamforce ’17, Salesforce announced myEinstien. myEinstien uses declarative and point-and-click tools and wizards to build & deploy AI models with the help of Salesforce data. With few clicks, bots and AI models can be created which empowers businesses to build custom AI-powered apps.
Trailhead platform enabled multiple people to enhance their career prospects by learning new skills. myTrailhead was introduced in Dreamforce ’17, which allows businesses to build their own interactive, mobile-optimized, on-demand Trailhead platforms. The product extends with 5 new tools: Trail Checker, Trail Maker, Trail Mixer, Trail Tracker, and Trailhead Profile. myTrailhead offers a gamified and fun learning platform with an easy interface.
After many years of IoT research and unsuccessful projects, Salesforce finally introduced it’s IoT platform, myIoT last year during Dreamforce. This platform enables any Salesforce developers or business user to collect data at the scale of IoT. myIoT highlights a low-code orchestration tool to create point-and-click automation rules governing connected IoT devices, such as a component within a connected machine on a factory floor malfunctioning and triggering a service call to a technician.
Last, but not the least, myLightning was announced after 2 years after the introduction of Salesforce Lightning framework. myLightning made Lightning completely customizable. This comes with an entirely different theme and design system, a re-designed app builder with “dynamic pages” including automated logic and filters, as well as the Lightning Bolt framework and new Lightning Flow tool.
The Trailblazers Enjoyed their Glory
Dreamforce has always been an event to learn new skills from fellow Trailblazers. Dreamforce ’17 witnessed several memorable moments. We saw many experts offered training sessions, attendees earned thousands on badges from the Trailhead Zone after acquiring new skills and passing the exams. Dreamforce ’17 also saw $15 million raised for the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, $1 million for Girl Scouts. Many companies also ‘gave back’ to the community by donating their time, profit, and product to the hurricane victims. The memories of Dreamforce ’17 is still fresh, the dust has not yet settled, and we are here again: Dreamforce 2018. The expectation is high and trailblazers around the world can’t wait for the much-awaited software carnival. Pack your bags, book your tickets and meet us in San Francisco.
